Neil currently undertakes a number of portfolio activities. He is Chairman of My1Login a single sign on and identity management company and an adviser to Par Equity a private equity group. He is Head of the HR Strategy Panel at ThisCityAgency and undertakes a number of consultancy activities. In addition, Neil is also a coach and mentor.

Neil’s previous corporate role was as a Senior Partner with PwC in their HR Consultancy practice based in London. There he worked with clients both in the UK, US and Europe across number of sectors including financial services, utilities, general industry and services. In addition, he was the Global HR lead for Citigroup and the UK HR lead for GE. Neil developed and led PwC’s Global Talent Management proposition.

Prior to working for PwC Neil held a number of senior HR Director roles primarily in the Financial Services sector. He was Group HR Director at RBS where he led 3000 HR professionals across 50 countries, the General Manager HR – Europe for National Australia Bank and Head of HR for the Asset Finance Division of Lloyds Bank. Neil started his career on the Graduate Training Scheme of British Rail, worked in Local Government and ran a training business before moving into the financial sector.

Neil has worked with many of the leading theorists on HR and People Management including Dave Ulrich, Lynda Gratton, Nitin Norhia and Boris Groysberg. In addition, Neil has worked with many of the world’s leading Business Schools including Harvard, Wharton, Duke and London Business School.

Neil has received a number of awards recognising his contribution to Human Resources, has featured in two Harvard Business School case studies and is the recipient of an Honorary degree for Services to Human Resources from Glasgow Caledonian University. Neil was Vice President of the CiPD from 2005-2008.
